IX. Conclusion: Serbia and the End Times

After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, the people of that time will become unrecognizable. When the time of the advent of the antichrist approaches, people's minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonor and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will grow unrecognizable. People's appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair. These people will be cruel and will be like wild animals because of the temptations of the antichrist. There will be no respect for parents and elders, love will disappear, and bishops and proests will become vile men, completely failing to distinguish the proper way from the improper. At that time the morals and traditions of Christians and of the Church will change. People will abandon modesty, and dissipation will reign. Falsehood and greed will attain great proportions, and woe to those who pile up treasures. Lust, adultery, homosexuality, secret deeds, and murder will rule in society. At that future time, due to the power of such great crimes and licentiousness, people will be deprived of the grace of the Holy Spirit, which they received in Holy Baptism, and equally of remorse. The Churches of God will be deprived of God-fearing and pious pastors, and woe to the Christians remaining in the world at that time; they will completely lose their faith because they will lack the opportunity of seeing the light of knowledge from anyone at all. They will separate themselves out of the world in holy refuges in search of a lightening of their spiritual sufferings, but everywhere they will meet obstacles and constraints. And this will result from the fact that the antichrist want to be lord over everything and becomes the ruler of the whole universe, and he will produce miracles and fantastic signs. He will also give depraved wisdom to an unhappy man so that he will discover a way by which one man can carry on a conversation from one end of the earth to the other. At that time, men will also fly through the air like birds and descend to the bottom of the sea like fish. And when they have achieved all this, these unhappy people will spend their lives in comfort without knowing, poor souls, that it is the deceit of antichrist. And the impious one - he will so complete science with vanity, that it will go off the right path and lead people to lose faith in the existence of God. Then God will see the downfall of the human race and will shorten the days for the sake of those few who are being saved, because the enemy wants to lead even the chosen into temptation, if that is possible ... then the sword of chastisement will suddenly appear to kill the perverter. --St. Nilus the Myrrhstreamer, 1651

There will be a storm. And the Russian ship will be smashed to pieces. But people can be saved even on splinters and fragments. And not everyone will perish. One must pray, everyone must repent and pray fervently. And what happens after a storm? ...There will be a calm.’ At this everyone said: ‘But there is no more ship, it is shattered to pieces; it has perished, everything has perished.’ ‘It is not so,’ said Batiushka. ‘A great miracle of God will be manifested. And all the splinters and fragments, by the will of God and His power, will come together and be united, and the ship will be rebuilt in its beauty and will go on its own way as foreordained by God. And this will be a miracle evident to everyone. --Starets Anatole the Younger of Optina, 1917

Persecutions against the faith will constantly increase. There will be unheard-of grief and darkness, and almost all the churches will be closed. But when it will seem to people that it is impossible to endure any longer, then deliverance will come. There will be a flowering. Churches will even begin to be built. But this will be a flowering before the end. --Starets Barnabas of Gethsemane Skete, c. 1915.

In chastising, the Lord at the same time also shows the Russian people the way to salvation by making it a preacher of Orthodoxy in the whole world. The Russian Diaspora has made all the ends of the world familiar with Orthodoxy; the mass of Russian exiles, for the most part, is unconsciously a preacher of Orthodoxy.... To the Russians abroad it has been granted to shine in the whole world with the light of Orthodoxy, so that other peoples, seeing their good deeds, might glorify our Father Who is in heaven, and thus obtain salvation for themselves.... The Diaspora will have to be converted to the path of repentance and, having acquired forgiveness for itself through prayer to God and through being reborn spiritually will become capable also of giving rebirth to our suffering homeland. --St. John Maximovich, 1938

They will believe that their illusion is the real truth, although there will be no truth in their heads. Here at home it will be the same as all over the world. People will start to hate clean air and this divine freshness and all divine beauty and will hide in rankness. Nobody will force them to do that, but they will do it of their own free will. Here, in Kremna, many a field will become a meadow, and many a home will be abandoned, but then those who have left will come back to heal themselves by breathing fresh air.

In Serbia it will not be possible to distinguish a man from a woman. Everybody will dress the same. This calamity will come to us from abroad but it will stay with us the longest. A groom will take a bride, but nobody will know who is who. People will be lost and will become more and more senseless day by day. Men will be born not knowing who was their grand-father and great grand-father. People will think that they know everything, but not a thing they will know. The Serbs will separate from each other, and they will say: “I am not a Serb, I am not a Serb.” The unholy one will infiltrate this nation and bed with Serbian sisters, mothers and wives. He will sire such children that among the Serbs, since the beginning of the world, these will be the worst of offspring. Only weaklings will be born, and nobody will be strong enough to give a birth to a real hero. Serbian Lay Recluse Dimitri Tarabicz

I have always maintained, along with a small portion of the Russian, post-Bolshevik Orthodox Church, consistently maintained two all important notions, that a) Russia will come to organize the resistance to the global oligarchy, and b) that because of (a), Orthodoxy will be shown to the whole world as the only theology of resistance, and thus, the only true path to God. I have no reason to believe, further, that what Russian can and will do in macrocosm, Serbia will do in microcosm. Serbia and Russia are intertwined, historically and religiously, and thus, the resistance will have some sort of Serbian assistance.

The synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, without a single exception, know the full brunt of the global oligarchy: their violence, their insatiable greed, their worldwide reach and their access to shockingly powerful technologies. The Russian church also knows these things, as the oligarchy has condemned Putin and his actions against the oligarchs loudly and with many overtones which suggest the regime is planning another “color coded” revolution in Moscow.

Many will say that speaking of the “end times,” is fruitless, given that so many, throughout Christian history, have also believed that theirs was the end. There are however, several things that make the present generation stand out from among other eras. First, the fact that the existence of a global oligarchy, made up of some of the richest families on the planet such as the Soros, Buffett or Rockefeller families, is a matter of public record. The meeting of the Bildeberg society, at posh resorts worldwide, behind an army of armed guards, prove the existence of such an oligarchy. Those who attend the Bildeberg meetings are the bosses of the bosses, the rulers of global capital.

Secondly, the existence of technologies that exist on another plane of existence from that of previous ages. Modern technologies permit a form of centralized rule that was not a part of the wildest dreams of tyrants of past ages. This technology is completely global in scope, permitting of a truly global rule and a truly global tyranny.

Thirdly, that this global oligarchy promises the world precisely what the antiChrist has been foretold to promise. Those that defend globalism and global technocracy all hum the same tune: that globalization and modern technologies will eventually cure all diseases, eliminate all tyranny and permit of a globally based prosperity and peace. There are few exceptions to this.

Fourthly, that Christianity has been reduced to a tiny and persecuted remnant. Few serious Orthodox still exist in the world, the remainder of the so-called Christian populations make no distinction between Christian and modern ethics. The ethic of paganism has taken its place on a global scale: namely, what is central to paganism, the worship of dead matter, that is, that life and goodness can come from dead matter, whether it be technology, power or money, is the official ideology of the global oligarchy.

Fifthly, that there is no part of the globe that is apart from their power and influence. Those few holdouts such as Cuba or Belarus are presently under tremendous pressure to conform to the oligarchy. Outside of the coercive institutions of global control such as access to global credit and global markets made possible by the World Traade Organization (WTO) or the IMF, developing into a modern economy is extremely difficult. In other words, the global oligarchy has made it very difficult to buy or sell outside of their institutions and, therefore, their control.

These five differences laid out here have one thing in common, namely, that the pagan system of control is global in scope: it does not merely take into account the comparatively small area of the Roman empire, for example. Further, that the nature of global control is complete, taking into itself, education, media, religion and politics.

What this has to do with understanding the end times is that, under the control of Nimrod in Babylon in the book of Genesis is similar, that it was the globe of the day. In ancient times, the earth was one solid land mass. Now, this is the common view of the scientific community, with the exception that their time scale is far longer than the biblical. At the same time, the world’s population was very small, leading to a rather simple situation where the Nimrodian bankers had full control over the economy in that unified global state.

What one might call modern paganism was born at Nimrod. There is little evidence in existence that paganism was ever a religion. It is rather the worship of dead matter, fetishized into money or technology. In other words, the “gods” of classical paganism were the banking houses themselves. Nicholas C. Eliopoulos, in his Yugoslavia and World Peace, to name one, has argued extensively on this connection between pagan worship and the temple banks.

Before the recording of history in Europe, according to an Egyptian legend that had been passed on to the Hellenes through Solon, the Atlantian invaders from beyond the Atlantic Ocean in the West had overcome all resistance in western Europe, but in their eastward drive they were repulsed at the Haimos. Upon their withdrawal from Europe, an earthquake, caused by their “black magic,” drowned them and sank their land, while their world order met with oblivion. Is NATO, appearing as a succeeding phantom of Atlantis, about to fill the roll of a similar fate? Speculatively, the fabled Atlantians of antiquity had retired their power in benevolent “white magic” in favor of “black magic” for selfish advantage. The ancient Babylonians, developers of politics, religion and education for the common good, also had replaced these clandestinely with the “money power, “sorcery” and propaganda for patrisan gain. Where such institutional aberrations not indicative of a kind of “military-industrial-church” complex in the making for private gain at the expense of the public welfare? (42)

Eliopoulos, a fairly well known Greek historian and linguist, makes several historical parallels often left out of the literature on this topic. Firstly, that there is a connection between the fabled Atlantis and modern pagan oligarchy. For such persons as Sir Francis Bacon, Atlantis represented the full flowering of what the Enlightenment considered “rationality,” namely, the existence of a scientific oligarchy using empirical techniques to solve problems, leading to a regime completely controlled by technology, all for the common good of humanity.

For modern banking, the true core of the oligarchy, the pagan notion of creating life from dead matter is brought to new heights. For them, interest equates with profits, and interest is creation ex nihilo, the act of man becoming God.

In western societies, bankers control the “national” currencies. The Federal Reserve in America is not a part of the federal government. It is a consortium of private bankers who decide on the prime rate of interest, and, as a result, control the money supply in the global economy (given that, for the time being, the dollar is the prime unit of international exchange). Therefore, the federal reserve prints bank notes in various denominations, backed by nothing, and charges interest on it. Therefore, the Federal Reserve reaps profits as a private corporation in charging interest on notes that are worth, in reality, only the cost of printing them. Therefore, the creation of money, interest and profits are all created out of nothing. Therefore, in many respects, the basis of the global economy is based on nothing, merely the cost of printing dollars. The dollar is only worth “money” in the sense that the virtual structure of the economy so decrees, that is, one must first “buy into” the global economy before the dollar is worth anything more than the cost of printing. The global economy is created, quite literally, out of nothing.

It is one thing to speak of Russia and the end times. She has the massive size, military strength and global reach to do battle with the forces of oligarchy and imperialism, the natural outgrowth of oligarchy. Russia is creating the alliance necessary to fight global imperialism. However, Serbia, marginalized and tiny, is another matter. What is her specific role? Will she become either a) a colony of Atlantis, or b) an appendage to Russia’s battle with antiChrist?

At present, Serbia and Bosnia are under the direct control of the World Bank. Serbia proper receives the level of self-government the global institutions of control permit her. In nationalist circles in the mid-1990s, it was widely understood that the Serbian bombing and military occupation was a “test case,” an experiment by the global elites to see how the new oligarchic order could work. It was a complex operation: a major media campaign was necessary, the military aspects of the campaign needed to be in place, an occupation needed to be organized and the internal manipulation of Serbian politics needed to be organized. All of which, unfortunately, came off without a hitch. Then, as the years went on, similar operations were to occur in Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine, Lebanon, parts of Central Asia, and Iraq.

Even further, George Soros engineered a takeover of the “Asian tigers” in 1996-7, by collapsing the Thai economy though his manipulation of their currency, the baht. Soon, the tigers fell like dominoes, eventually being taken over by the World Bank. It was only a matter of months when the employment structure of Japan and South Korea was altered, and the lifetime employment guarantees of those two countries were destroyed, and a western model put in their place. Many of the larger corporations of the Asian economies were taken over by western banks, and their sovereignty effectively ended.

The only country to survive Soros’ destruction was China. This was the case for one reason: that the Chinese yuan is controlled by the state, not by private bankers. Quickly, the Chinese moved to retaliate, and began building an empire of their own to protect themselves from further oligarchic incursions. They bought up the entrances to the Panama Canal, bought a substantial amount of American debt (the Achilles heel of the viper) and built a close relationship with Putin’s Russia.

Another nation that has been at war with the oligarchic order is Burma, a country with a thriving economy much like that of China. The Burmese military are desperately attempting to control the currency, and thereby protecting it from western incursions. George Soros has created several organizations attempting to subvert the Burmese military government so as to take control of that economy, as well as the substantial drug trade regional bosses are carrying on. It is no accident that Soros is also funding the decriminalization of drugs campaign in America and England. For the CIA’s part, long time field agent Andrew Allen of San Francisco has been in charge of the “democracy movement” in Burma for over a decade.

Burma is developing rapidly using a similar model to that of China, a strong central government and central control over the value of the national currency. Burma too, looks to China for protection. For the Burmese junta, the emphasis has been on local economic investment and import substitution to lessen any form of dependence upon the global oligarchic order. Western financed regional drug lords and secessionist movements have largely been defeated and Burma is moving to an alliance with the Russians. It might also stand mentioning that the heroin trade in norther Burma has been a means where the Burmese communist party has financed itself for generations. (Cf. My article, “Lies and Myths about Burma,” The Barnes Review, May/June 2005)

What has all this to do with Serbia?

The size of a country has never had any relation to power or influence. Portugal, the Netherlands, England, Japan and many others could be mentioned. Serbia too has influence and power (at least potentially) far out of proportion to its size.

Firstly, the main reason why the war was launched in 1995 against Serbia was that the government of Slobodan Milosevic, a firmly social-nationalist system, had refused to be a part of the currency system of the World Bank. Lukashenko had done similarly in Belarus a year before (though its closeness to Russia protected it). The second reason, very close in importance, was the coming oil pipeline what was to stretch from the Caspian Sea into western Europe. This demanded a cooperative government, and, therefore, the Socialists, as well as the Radicals, needed to go. Secondly, Kosovo is sitting on one of the most important centers of gold, silver, platinum, lead and tin in the world. Placing a tame government, or at least one that owes its position to the west, also was paramount.

From medieval Serbia onward, Serbia had been a major road of trade both with the west as well as the Orient. Serbia sits on a trade intersection of global importance. To have such a country in a union with Russia was unacceptable. Serbia blocked the oligarchy’s complete control over the strategic Balkan peninsula.

The U.S. then found itself in an interesting position. In order to gain control over the entire Balkans, the U.S. found itself funding Islamic terror organizations operating in Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Kosovo. As the U.S. was allegedly fighting Islamic terror in Iraq or Afghanistan she was financing it in Chechnya, Georgia and throughout the Balkans. The alliance against Serbia shows just how important this small country is to the west: Germany, NATO, the Vatican, the World Bank, all Islam and the United States. For all these powerful interests, Serbia became the intersection for an alliance of no less than global influence and control. While the Vatican pompously condemn the U.S. invasion of Iraq, they cheered the invasion of Serbia. As far as the popes are concerned, their attempts to forcibly convert the Serbs is entering its 9th century. That fat alone should speak volumes about the Serbs and their role in global politics.

Far from being in the margins of world politics, Serbia has been front and center at least from World War I. The Serbs were the most powerful state in Europe under Tsar Dusan in the 14th century. They were key to British policy in World War I and World War II. The invasion of Yugoslavia by Hitler’s armies delayed his invasion of the USSR, wasting valuable time in the Spring season, forcing the Germans to fight in the bitter winter, thereby losing the war for Hitler.

Today, nothing has changed. Serbia is front and center in world politics. The Radical party, in a loose union with the Socialists, swept the Serb elections last year, causing the Regime to nullify them, installing the hated DOSies back into power. This strongly suggests that rebellion is brewing in the heart of Serbia, and, as the Regime becomes more and more confident, will lead to a severe backlash. No one who takes Serbia seriously believers that the present government is anything but a puppet of NATO, designed to do its bidding. When a new Karageorge will rise to lead his people against the New World Order is anyone’s guess, but there is no doubt that such a rebellion will draw in Russia, and therefore, China and Belarus. Eastern Ukraine mght also then develop its own secessionist tendencies, bringing more industry and natural resources into Russia’s orbit. Serbia’s role in world history is still not finished, but she may well be central to the defeat of the forces of antiChrist. If the Iraqis can do it, then there is no reason that the Serbs, when the time is right, might do so as well. There are firm nationalist elements within the police and military that may serve as a fifth column if active, a sullen revolutionary force if purged. The wars of Serbia against he Turks, the Bulgarians, the Germans and the Austrians prove that Serbia has a long history of defeating foes far larger than itself. In World War I, it took the entire Austrian empire three invasions to finally defeat tiny Serbia, and the third invasion used Bulgarian and German assistance (and it still too six weeks to pacify the country). Historically, then, the size and influence of western militaries has no relation to the chances of victory.

It is fitting that I write these words on Vidovdan, 2005. Then, as now, defeatism was everywhere, and the pain of death, defeat and humiliation was sharp. Today, Serbs find themselves in the same situation. But, as I dealt with in the epic poetry, there certainly are signs of hope. Signs that all is not lost, and that God never abandons his Chosen. Victory is ours because our cause if Christ’s, as part of His mystical body, His Church. Christ will come again in victory after the victory of antiChrist seems complete, He will come when times seem the worst. Our prayer should be that of repentance and deliverance. And as God took the Israelites away from the Egyptians, the Medes and the Assyrians, He will do the same with the successors of Israel, the true Israel, his Orthodox people. We are hopeful because we are Christian, we are hopeful because we are not alone.
